SUMMARY (just a quick view) · GENERAL EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES To make a comparison between the educational systems, the school planning, the teaching / learning methods in the countries concerned. To have a positive attitude (curiosity, ”listening”, respect, collaboration) towards those different from you. To compare and acknowledge the individual characteristics and value the differences between people, countries, experiences, while recognising the value of integration, of cultural exchange and the overcoming of geographical limits. To contribute to the formation of a European dimension in education by spreading the culture of integration and fighting against racism, xenophobia and discrimination. SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL CULTURAL OBJECTIVES To discuss a theme (the border) from different perspectives: geographical (natural boundaries), historical (the events), legal (national and international laws), economic (business relations, trade rules,…), literary (works dealing with the topic), philosophical (the line between the known and the unknown) and so on. To discover the literature, art, history and culture of other countries and present to the others the literature, art, history and culture of your own country. To study historical, social and cultural events relevant to the chosen theme from an evolving perspective that moves from medieval Europe to the present day. To analyse the impact of historical events on the collective and individual consciences, considering the different forms of interpretation and the different historical points of view. PRACTICAL EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES To use the language (in readings, production of texts, e-mail, …) as a living instrument of communication, a means by which we can get to know each other, a vehicle for human and cultural values. To plan research and process information following correct methods and using suitable tools (including Information Technology). To carry out conscientiously the commitments taken, respecting the deadlines and bringing constructive contributions to the work of the group, of the class, of the people involved in the project (your own school and the foreign partners).
